  -Born 9 Oct. 1725 in King and Queen Co., VA<\/p>\n

  -Died August 1799 at \u201cMulberry Hill\u201d.  Buried in unmarked graves at \u201cMulberry Hill\u201d<\/p>\n

  Married Ann Rogers<\/strong>, about 1749<\/p>\n

      -Born 21 Oct. 1728 in King and Queen Co., VA<\/p>\n

      -Died 24 Dec. 1798 at \u201cMulberry Hill\u201d.  Buried in unmarked graves at \u201cMulberry Hill\u201d<\/p>\n

  -Arrived in KY in March 1785 joining their son, George Rogers Clark<\/strong> (The Little Colonel’s great great great great uncle, otherwise known as the conqueror of the Northwest Territory)<\/span> at Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY.  The couple had all together 10 children, the eldest was Jonathan.<\/p>\n

General Jonathan Clark<\/strong><\/u>  (The Little Colonel’s great great great grandfather, brother of George Rogers Clark and William Clark)<\/span><\/p>\n

   -Born 12 Aug. 1750 in Albemarle Co., VA<\/p>\n

   -fought in the battles of Brandywine (11 September 1777), Germantown (4 October 1777), Mon-mouth (28 June 1778), and the attack on Paulus Hook in 1779<\/p>\n

   -Died 25 Nov. 1811 in Jefferson, Co., KY.  Buried at \u201cMulberry Hill\u201d, and 1868 reinterred in Cave Hill <\/p>\n

     Cemetery, Louisville, KY<\/p>\n

  Married Sarah Hite <\/strong>(daughter of Col. Isaac and Eleanor (Eltinge) Hite), 13 Feb. 1782<\/p>\n

   -Born 11 May 1758 in Frederick Co., VA<\/p>\n

   -Death Oct. 1818 in Jefferson Co., KY.  Buried at \u201cMulberry Hill\u201d, and 1868 reinterred in Cave Hill Cemetery,<\/p>\n

      Louisville, KY <\/p>\n

The couple had seven children, Ann was the fifth.<\/p>\n

Ann Clark<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

  -Born 19 May 1792 in VA<\/p>\n

  -Died 18 July 1833 Buried at \u201cMulberry Hill\u201d and 1868 reinterred in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, KY<\/p>\n

-Married James Anderson Pearce<\/strong> (son of Edmund and Mary (Anderson) Pearce), 30 Sept.1810<\/p>\n

  -Born 19 Oct. 1777 <\/p>\n

  -Died 18 Nov. 1825 Buried at \u201cMulberry Hill\u201d and 1868 reinterred in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, KY<\/p>\n

The couple had eight children, the second was Edmund.<\/p>\n

Edmund Pearce<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

  -Born 6 April 1813 in Louisville, KY<\/p>\n

  -Died 10 Sept. 1889<\/p>\n

Married Myra Steele<\/strong> (daughter of Richard and Amelia (Neville) Steele), 12 Nov. 1834 in Jefferson Co., KY<\/p>\n

  -Born 20 Sept. 1816<\/p>\n

  -Died 12 April 1843<\/p>\n

Their two children were James Anderson Pearce (“?Uncle Tom”)<\/span> and Amelia Neville Pearce (“Amanthis”)<\/span><\/p>\n

  -Born 30 Sept. 1837<\/p>\n

  -Died 19 Oct. 1870<\/p>\n

Married George Weissinger<\/strong> (“The Old Colonel”)<\/span> (son of George W. and Amanthus (Bullitt) Weissinger), 5 Dec. 1865<\/p>\n

  -Born 11 Dec. 1836 in Louisville, KY<\/p>\n

  -Died 24 Feb. 1903<\/p>\n

They had only one child:<\/p>\n

Amelia Neville Weissinger<\/strong><\/u> (“Mrs. Sherman, The Little Colonel’s mother”)<\/span><\/p>\n

  -Born 7 Sept. 1867<\/p>\n

 Married J. Hoadley Cochran<\/strong> (“Papa Jack”)<\/span><\/p>\n

They also had only one child<\/p>\n

Hattie Hoadley Cochran<\/strong> (“The Little Colonel”)<\/span><\/p>\n

  -Born 24 Nov. 1890 in Louisville, KY<\/p>\n

 Married Albert Conrad Dick<\/strong>, (son of Albert Mallory and Emma Albertine (Conrad) Dick), 3 Oct. 1912<\/p>\n

  -Born 31 Dec. 1885 in Louisville, KY<\/p>\n

So this makes The Little Colonel the great great great granddaughter of General Jonathan Clark, and the great great great great niece of George Rogers Clark (conqueror of the Northwest Territory) and William Clark (of the Lewis & Clark Expedition).<\/p>\n
