This was the principle church in the stories and is where Annie Fellows Johnston, the Craig’s (McIntyre’s), Lawton’s (Walton’s) attended services in real life.   This church is still located on Central Avenue close to the old post office and the center of Pewee Valley, KY.

St. James Episcopal Church<\/a>. Scene of Malcolm’s proposal to the Little Colonel.  This is still in operation, and can be found on the corner of KY State Road 146 (also known as “LaGrange Road”) and Maple Avenue in Pewee Valley, KY.

First Baptist Church, Stumptown.<\/a>  Scene of an African-American wedding in The Little Colonel Maid of Honor, Chapter 14.  This church is in operation and can be found 200 yards West of the intersection of Ash Avenue and Floydsburg Road in Pewee Valley.
